The 2020 baseball season is just around the corner. Players and coaches are registering and now, it’s time for our umpires to get signed up. Returning umpires from previous seasons will need to reregister again for this season. We also need new umpires, so if you have a friend that may be interested, please help spread the word!
****Update: Umpire Training may be online this year. We are working out the specifics of how we can do this. Please keep checking here for more information!!
SAVE THE DATES
Individuals with zero (0) to five (5) years of experience will be required to attend the following training session.
When: April 2nd - 6pm-9pm (Instructional meeting) --Cancelled
April 3rd - 5pm-9pm (Training) -- Cancelled
Time: Please check in 15 minutes before each session
Where: Eagle Ridge Middle School
At this time our Umpire training has been cancelled. Please check back here for more information when things are rescheduled.
The umpire training will determine which level(s) you will be eligible to umpire for. Similar to the last couple seasons, the testing will be online. The test will become available April 6. Information and web links for the test will be coming out soon. Also to be included in the testing e-mail will be the annual reminder and web link for concussion training, which is required to be completed each season by BAC.
We will be posting the new season’s current official rule book soon. However, in the meantime, feel free to view last season’s rule book to familiarize yourself with age-level rule distinction – there should be very few changes (if any) to the rule book from last season. Other great resources would be the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL)/National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) high school rule book and the Professional Baseball Umpire Corporation (PBUC) "Manual for the Two-Umpire System".
We look forward to having you as part of the BAC Men in Blue!
